As someone who lives on the internet, I run across many different websites throughout the day and night; once in awhile I run into “that site” which I must speak about. (and not in a good way ) To have a successful work from home business in affiliate marketing you must know your audience!
What do I mean by that? Well, if you are promoting something along the lines of costume jewlery; it stands to reason that your audience will be a younger more “hip” crowd. Therefore your writing style can reflect that, it can be much more casual and fun as opposed to serious and completely grammatically correct.
If I am visiting another work from home site or one which teaches affiliate marketing, I don’t want to feel as if it was written by someone who’s unable to articulate themselves in a professional manner. In other words, one can almost see their strong skills in “texting” carrying over to their work from home business. All credibility is instantly shot with me and it doesn’t matter what they are selling, I am moving on.
What I am getting at is you have to be comfortable writing and designing this website to reflect the targeted audience you will predominantly sell too. If you you plan on setting up an affiliate marketing site focusing on children’s toys, you can reflect a more fun personality. However, if you jump into weight loss because you feel it will make more money; then your site content should come across in a more serious manner.
Throwing together a work from home site is easy, constructing one that will make your audience want to buy from you requires a bit more thought.
If you have read the “about me” page you are well aware that I was a waitress and bartender at one point in my life. My specialty that set me apart was the ability to “mirror” my customers and be the server they wanted. Did they come to joke around and just have fun, or are they the ones looking for a dining experience that is more upscale and classy? I would play the role of either or; because my money depended on it.
Affiliate marketing or any work from home business is no different. You will work very hard to get the customers you receive, and you certainly don’t want them to walk out because you are offending them with how you come across in your site. I have said it before and I will say it again; A legitimate work from home business must be treated as you would any “brick and mortar” store. Surely you would want to make a great impression there, and so it should be on your website.
Much Success To You!
